As working professional writing becomes a vital part of our communication in day-to-day activities. Similarly, it has become an important task for me, as my work involves writing emails to clients as well as giving out memos to my co-workers. This is where most of my writing work takes place daily. Apart from that, I do sometimes write technical blogs regarding web development once in a while.
I think writing is a fantastic skill that everyone should master. Writing empowers a person in many different ways. Say, for example, it helps him/her communicate better. I do read a lot and appreciate the writer's content a lot. Their work, their thought process, their effort, and in-depth knowledge about the topics they write about. This is caught my attention. That is how I developed my interest in writing. A lot of co-workers whose English is not their first language, who are not fluent in English as well, come to my desk for help, asking me to write their emails or at least ask me to draft one for them. This is how I started taking writing seriously as I see my peers struggling. This is how I started writing more and more emails at my workplace. In fact , after reading my emails many clients were impressed with the appreciated me. I started enjoying the process of writing.
Although I am able to write many emails to clients, I still feel that I have a lot to improve. I am planning to write technical blogs in near future as well. I need to improve on my vocabulary as well. Most of my emails include simple English, routine as well. Sometimes they are too wordy. I want to be more crisp and clear instead of beating around the bush. I want to be good at essay writing and business writing as well. These are my prime area of focus.
